Sad Lady Walking

This is a painting of a sad lady walking. I had some landscape at first in the background but deleted those and went for the blue sky only. The sadness has to be temporary and that is the reason behind the walk. I hope its temporary.

The Bridge

I have made this bridge for my Serbian friend Marry, who has a dream to make bridges. It was very surprising to listen to. Bridges connect people of two sides of the river.

In the painting though, I did not make a complete bridge with two sides. Rather it is the middle of a bridge and assuming that there are two sides of the bridge that connects to the lands. Also that there is no figure walking on the bridge. I felt that a figure or two in the bridge can be something I can put, but I did not. The story is about the bridge and not about soemone walking on it.

It was an interesting thought indeed.

Graceful Rectangles

Eyes Series

Similar to the Fish series, this one is also about the varities of colour within a small area, which can be amazing. I actually can see very minute details of the reflection on a eye when I see the mirror. The ability is actually amazing.

Kandinsky Revisited

I have tried to represent human figures in the minimalist form of a cell. The ropes are trying to attach the cell with another cell. Sometimes the lonely cell has no attachment or sometimes two cells meet in a serendipity.

This technique of chaotic forms simply amazes me. I will not say these works as complete paintings, but rather draft forms, which require further composition. They can be seen as bubbles of conflicting ideas having collisions along a path of thinking.

Fun Title Animation for Thales Presentation 2

This title animation was shown at my classroom presentation at Strathclyde for Marketing Works Project. The presentation was actually a brief of the marketing plan for Thales Optronics that our team has submitted. The audiences were my classmates, faculty members from the Marketing Department and three external judges. Since, I made the PowerPoint slides very simple, I thought lets show some graphics with a title animation before the slides.

Animation is not mandatory for the presentation. It's just my wish to show something attractive to get the attention. The response was good.

Fun Title Animation for Thales Presentation 1

The course work on student consultancy project at Strathclyde requires this final presentation and I thought that the presentation slides would remain as simple as possible. To enhance the presentation I did this title animation. Unfortunately, this one got rejected by the department. It has these photos of people, which the department does not want. The interesting thing was that the department building got exploded in this animation.

Although it was intended just a classroom fun, the refusal is actually part of the designer/animator life. It just will happen. So, I made another one without any human photos.

Layout for Acrylic on Canvas Paintings

These layout are very simple figures with a touch of minimalism. Although I have a very confident style in digital art, I am still experimenting with hand painted arts. The question of a national identity comes into this topic. Nobody cares about Western or Asian digital art, or like Indian digital art and American digital art. But when it comes to paintings, people have this appetite for national identity through paintings.

I guess digital art is not a symbol of national culture, rather it can be said that some artists do digital works in a very generalised way. But painting is about the artist and his or her cultural identity. This extra load was actually injected in me from my Fine Arts faculty at Dhaka University. 'Do this painting represent us?'- this was the question. Now if I have to represent a long lasting Bangladeshi cultural perception in my painting and also show my own ideas, then its troubling.

In a way this saves from comments like that this artist is just copying American artists or

something similar. The question of pure originality is debatable issue and research is possible on this.

Thales Optronics Presentation

From October, 2008, I was doing this student consultancy project and did this presentation at half way of the project in March, 2009. I tried to use my design power to make the presentation fantastic. But even though the clients were really happy with the presentation, the examiners were not impressed with all the graphics. So, in my final project presentation, I put all the graphics that I want to do in an opening animation and made the presentation very simple.

Basically, the problem with images are that people have their own perception of what picture goes with what topic. At times it can be very critical not to over do graphics.

Brand Management Class

I did this advertisement design for a wine for fun when doing the brand management course at Strathclyde. As a person who has never tasted wine, this was a very funny idea for me.

The name of the wine is Lotusland and its from Vancouver, Canada. The company presently focuses on local photos to show the local origin of the wine. I tried to show Mystique in the wine Ad. When I said that I shall promote a mysticism in the wine, my course instructor looked at my like, 'WHAT!!'

I projected Lotusland as a land of mysticism, where the wine takes you to.
